As the Visual Digital Experience Designer, I led the visual design and user experience for BranchPattern’s website redesign, translating the brand’s sustainability mission into a modern, intuitive digital experience. Working closely with strategists, developers, and stakeholders, I crafted responsive digital experience, established a cohesive visual system, and designed user journeys that made complex sustainability services easier to understand and navigate. My focus was on balancing storytelling with usability, creating an experience that reflected BranchPattern’s expertise while driving engagement, accessibility, and conversion across key audience segments.

An opportunity to lead

BranchPattern’s mission was too important to be lost in an ineffective   user experience that confused audiences. To drive real change, they needed a digital presence that worked harder, one that could connect deeply with their audience. This was an opportunity to transform their website into a platform that bridged the gap between dense technical complexity and clear, engaging messaging designed to inform, inspire, and encourage action.

I led the design of BranchPattern’s digital experience from strategy through execution, transforming complex technical content into an intuitive, engaging, and accessible website. I established the visual direction, designed responsive user journeys, and crafted a scalable interface system that balanced clarity with storytelling, ensuring users could easily navigate tailored pathways and understand BranchPattern’s mission.

Collaborating closely with strategy, content, and development, I helped translate research and business goals into a cohesive digital experience that strengthens the brand, improves usability, and supports meaningful engagement with sustainability-focused audiences.

The deeper move was aligning the design system with the company’s own operating logic. Kairos develops its technology through iterative, modular stages, and the system follows the same principle: repeatable units capable of scaling, adapting, and evolving over time. For an engineering-driven organization, the design itself became part of the argument for credibility as well as a vehicle for communicating it.

Reflection

The redesigned experience helped transform BranchPattern’s website into a more engaging destination. With more than 14,000 annual unique visitors and an average 20.1 seconds spent on the homepage post launch, the project demonstrates how thoughtful information architecture, purposeful visual storytelling, and clear user pathways can encourage visitors to engage with complex subject matter.

These outcomes reinforced the value of designing for both clarity and curiosity, creating an experience that not only reflects the brand’s expertise but also invites users to explore its mission more deeply.
